Questions and a couple plant pics
First off I was wondering how important controlling the humidity is? Right now my temps average between 82-87 degrees, and humidity is around ~35%. From what I've read, humidity levels should be around 50%, correct? I was wondering the easiest way to help raise it without buying a humidifier.
Second question is.... well when do I flower this biotch? and some pictarz! ![]() ![]() ![]() And here is the main stem, and some dying bottom growth (should I trim this?). ![]() If you noticed the ends of the leaves are kinda hooked like claws... another pic of this - any ideas on the cause ? Or Just genetics? ![]() Last edited by Rekisito : 04-30-2008 at 08:14 PM. |

You can try to raise humidity by putting a bowl of water in the room with a rag hanging half in, and half out and a fan blowing on it to encourage evaporation.
Try to answer as much of this as you can for a proper diagnosis. Important things to know, what type of soil are you using? Have you tested pH? How often are you watering and how much? Youve got some major droopage and clawing going on there. Youll want to figure out how to fix your problems before flowering.

my apologies, i forgot to include my basic info again lol
Medium is hyponex potting soil (no fertz) and perlite Watering every 4-5 days, and yes plant was pretty underwatered, I did water monday with a half liter of RO water, was going to water again on friday. Maybe I should give it a liter or so next time? Lighting is 6 26w 6500k CFL's. Shedule is 18-6. I have no pH tester at the moment, money is somewhat tight, so it's something I will have to do without for this plant unfortunately. This plant was given to me as a dying seedling, how I managed to nurse it back to health and keep it alive is beyond me, I wasn't nearly ready with my setup, you can't really see it, but it's a hackjob for sure... LOL. oh, and I have a 10" fan exhausting air around the top-lighting area, but no intake at the moment. Last edited by Rekisito : 04-30-2008 at 08:46 PM. |

I am assuming this is from seed. High humidity will encourage more females while lower humidity will encourage more males on average. High temps will also encourage more males and 85-87 is too hot for me. You can do the half rag in a bowl of water/fan trick or you can just invest in a cheap humidifier. Either way I would raise up the humidity.
Are you feeding it yet? It looks hungry and heat stressed.

your plant is with its leafs down due to the high proximity of the lamps, which causes the plant to HEAT. it may not seem so at first, but those lamps get really hot when on a 24/7 cycle. mine got all brown on the outside of the ballast.

Haven't fed it any nutes yet, but I have been watering with RO water that has a slight bit of a sensi product added to it by the guy at the local hydro store.
I've stored the water at room temp though, and I'm starting to wonder if the water is stagnant now, cause I just watered the plant again about 5 hours ago and now the leaf tips are curling upwards... wtf is that about? I know I saw something on this problem before but I can't remember where? Anyway, I just pot a pH kit, gonna test the soil tomorrow, add in this new fan I bought as an intake to blow over the lights as well. |
