Chemical More oxygen in the soil?

I have to ask because I have been pondering on this all day long. I have an air pump for an aquarium...it isn't big, at all...just for like a 10 or 20 gallon aquarium and I was wondering if I could possibly rig it so that it pumps air into the bottom of my soil?
Would it be a significant amount of oxygen to help the roots?

Let me know your thoughts on this, please.

Thanks.

Yes, I have done that with great results. Roots love O2.

Really, you've pumped your soil grows with an air pump? I've heard that oxygenating your water with soil grows isn't that beneficial. I know that roots need oxygen and well as microlife in your soil but I've never heard of somebody pumping air into the soil. Didn't that dry out your soil real fast?

I have never pumped O2 directly into the pots before but Aerating your water and nutrient solutions makes a drastic difference and is very beneficial.
