Ph measures acidity of water. PPM measures Parts Per Million. And know idea of what ms is lol sorry. I have the same meter and just use the PH and PPM. Thats all you really need.

Seems Hanna has several metering devices,bi and tri meters.
They all measure PH and PPM and others will either measure the temp. or the ms/cm(as my limited google search has shown 3 min. ago).

Seems Hanna has separated the PPM and the ms/cm,but as far as i can see the ms/cm is really just another measure of EC which is converted to a user friendly PPM in MOST cases for growers.

You may have a meter designed for the Aquarium industry which may need those two to read separately,im not sure.

What model # is your meter and is it a pen or does it have wires?

You could always take it to a Hydro shop and they can test it next to a dif. meter and that will tell you straight away.

it is the pen

and my meter is some how set to "ppt" instead of PPM, and i have no idea how to change that, it must mean part per thousand? also i was just told that "ms" measures the salinity, so thats pretty cool.

thanks for all of your help
