Position of light (turn 90 degrees or not)

I was looking at my cabinet today I realized I might want to turn my light 90 degrees. It seems almost everyone, myslef included, has the length of the light bulb parrellel with the long axis of the grow space (open your cab, which is wider than narrow and you see the side of the bulb). But I think this is wrong.

A lot of the light in the middle hits the back wall and doors. This is the brightest light, so shouldnt you want your light bulb to be perpendicular to the long axis of the cab (in other words when you open the cabinet you should be looking at the butt or head of the bulb.???
