my noob setup
I just started this project a week ago. Below I will list the details. I ask that experienced and or knowledgeable people give me some feedback.
Grow Space: Small walk-in closet approx 4 1/2 feet by 4 1/2 feet. Painted flat white a year ago. I cleaned out the closet and then sprayed it down and scrubbed every inch with antibacterial disinfectent spray. I then laid plastic bags down on the floor and I designed a wood plant shelf, which sits approx. 3 1/2 inches off the ground. Light: 105 watt CFL 6500k Fixture: Some super reflective, which I must say reflects well! Quanity: 1 Plants: Currently have 2 under the light, and I just planted a sprouted seed and it's chilling in a cool darm place. The plants sit approx. 3 - 3 1/2 inches away from the light. Water: I boiled a gallon of tap water for a bit, then let it stand for 3 days expoused at room temp. It's now in a milk carton. I water my plants lightly once a day or a good bit once every 2-3 days. I know water isnt really needed often in veg. state, so I water it very lightly once a day often. My CFL light just came in today and I set it all up. Prior to today, the plants were on a windowsill that received a generous amount of light from the sun and good warmth from it also. And they were on the windowsill from 6 am - 8 pm After that they were put in a 100% dark place with a 15-20 deg. drop in temp. My Questions: 1)How do people have there lights setup so that it's just a bulb sticking out and capable of putting 4 bulbs into 4 branches? 2) I have a house fan that I blow on the plans on low, but it blows cold cold air, is that okay? I don't put it on often because of that. Rather I open the closet for roughly 5-10 minutes every 2-3 hours. I also run the fan for a few minutes and give the plant a workout. 3) I plan on growing 2 plants in veg @ all times while having 2 flowering at all times. Basically harvest once a month. How can I conceal the smell? I can't drill any holes or anything to expensive. A plate of vinegar and maybe grow a few mint plants in there? 4) Is it okay to veg them with 24/7 light for a month, and then flower then 12/12 for about a month or until the trichomes are the way I want them to be (head-high, couch lock, or good mix?" 5) I plan on using 20-20-20 Fert for veg and 11-35-15 for flowering I have $70 to spend now. I will try to get pictures of my grow, but as you can see my budget is tight and I lost my camera .Links: Fert for flowering: http://cgi.ebay.com/Better-Gro-Bloom...2em118Q2el1247 Fert for vegging: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll....cWAT.m240.lVI Soil: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll....cWAT.m240.lVI Light: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll....cWON.m313.lVI |

2) best bet is to wait on someone coming in here or hit up the search button. 3) not a problem at all, 18/6 - 24/7, both are fine. 4) i have my fan blowing onto/above my plants for the entire time the lights on. 5) -- 6) completely optional, you'll be able to find numerous threads on this via the search button, theres a sticky in absolute beginners too. 7) well i always leave my door open. |
