Ok, so I have my lights (2x27w dl cfl, 1x42w cw cfl) on twenty-four seven, I know that foliar feeding is best done in the morning when the stomata are open, and that through out the day the stomata close inhibiting foilar feeds. So if I have my lights on 24/7 or 24/0 should I turn em off for about 3 hours then foilar feed?
Ill post a pic of my plant that I want to foilar feed just in case it ain't ready yet, but I am sure it is. Thanx in advance. ![]() Mr_Spliff ![]() |

your plant looks to be no more than lmaybe 3 weeks old or so, you dont really need to use any sort of feed yet. i dont use any foliar feeding, and never thought it did much based on what i learned about plant biology, but there are some internet sites that say it works. stomata are open for gas exchange and water vapor release, not so much for fertilizer intake.
as far as the light schedule, you can go 24/0 if you want or go with a few hours of lights off. 20/4 worked well for me, i personally think that giving the plant a few hours of down time is beneficial. maybe someone else who has had quantifiable, positive results with foliar feeding can post something.

personally i wouldn't bother foliar feeding at all.. just water the dirt imho.
if you choose to foliar feed, then just do it at your convenience since your lights are on 24/7 anyway. switching off and on manually for 3 hours seems like a hell of a lot of trouble to go through man. best of luck w/ your plant it looks great!

Ive had good results with foilar feeding in the past, I hear eventually the roots loose some of ther ability to do there job, and that the leaves can absorb moister and neutrients just as well, its why clones need to be misted, imo and others. And I am careing for my dad, hes a cancer patient, so I have ABSOLUTLY nothing to do except play with myself lol, so turning on and off the lights gives me something to dedicate myself to.
