I do not know, or have any evidence. But I really don't think that will work. For example, people put vinegar, or good smelly gels to make the plants not smell in their house, and they don't smell like vinegar, or lavender. Sometimes people grow garlic in the same room to make it not smell like weed, and it doesn't taste like garlic...see what im saying. It's not like the plant will absorb the sea salt in the air, only water evaporates.
