Spraying Carbon Water on plants? myth or truth

Ive heard that you can spray carbonized water of some kind on your plants and it acts like CO2. is this true and if the plants are under 24/h light wouldnt the mist promote burning on the leaves if there wet under the light?

i did this with my first plant ever, i cant tell you if it helped or not but t sure didnt hurt it.

if you are not using HID or very very strong LED`s i dont think burn on the leaves from magnified light will cause spots, it never did for me under floros, but it has since i started running HPS and MH, so i dont mess with it anymore, there are some who swear by it and some that dont, i guess its prefrence ive read it in a few books and seen it in a few grow vids so it cant be horrible
