From which week does it get you high?

Hello all

I've been wondering how soon can i cut a plant and still give me a buzz (any kind, however powerlful/less). Is 5 weeks flowering gonna get me any high at all?

You didn't give a lot of info, but i'll explain.

For one, the earlier you cut, the smaller the buds and less potent. The buds actually swell late in flowering (6-7+ wks) and optimum potency is chosen by you...

Potency is determined in usually two ways (use both to determine):
-1st by Pistil color (cloudy, to orange, to reddish-brown) turning about 50-75% reddish-brown.
-2nd by the trichromes (clear, cloudy, then amber)... The more head high and energetic high (sativa-like) you harvest when the trichromes are cloudy; if you want more of a couch lock and "stoned" feel (indica-like) you harvest when 75% or so of the trichromes are amber.

You might need a $10 microscope from RadioShack to look at the trichromes. But it will make your bud a lot of more potent.

man i had a freind round last night and we cut all the massive fan leaves of my plant and i was stoned to the bone
,my plant is 5 weeks old
it wasnt the best smoke ive ver had but it was a very mellow controlable stoned

Well, the thing is i got a bagseed that has some quite big cola's and is only at 5th week 12/12, also around 20% of the pistils are orange, but i need to get rid of it cause it takes precious space from my WW and PPP, and they need it a lot atm, they've started fattening up and i want THEM to get as much light as possible. The bagseed is very big and bushy (i've trained it) and looks like its 2 weeks ahead @ budding although that's not the case, its just 10 days older in veg cycle. Would i get high at all if i cut it today? (let it dry ofc and some cure too)

hehe, that's nice m8, i rly hope i get high too because i may be asking about advice but the truth is i've already cut it and there's no turning back. I tried a popcorn last night which i barely dried and it did give me a buzz but it lasted as long as the smoke lasted. Here's a pic of the yield @ 5 weeks flowering

Oh and i got to mention that this specific bagseed started preflowering like crazy 2 weeks before i switched to 12/12

Well, to answer my own question, my prematurely cut bagseed gets me higher than anything i can buy atm

I have definately felt buzzed after fan-leaf smoke. Are there other canabanoids that would produce that effect, or might there be trace amounts inherent in the plant's tissue?

Also, at 5 weeks, I got fooled by my colas once, too. I decided to cut 'em, thinking the tops were full and beautiful, and I'd let the bottoms fill out with a few extra weeks. Ha-ha... jokes on me... horrible waste of time. The weed worked, I'll say that much, but it was all leaf. The buds were just hardened leaf matter, with none of the flesh of a solid bud... and these were my colas. What's more, if the story is correct, I didn't chop at 5 weeks flowering, I chopped at 3... five weeks after switching to 12/12 (the two are not the same thing).

The pic was a little dark, but hopefully your yield was a bit more mature than mine. Happy tokin, and here's to the next crop.

I don't believe I understand. Are you saying that it's all in my head? I'm no botanist, so I can say that my "knowledge" on marijuana is comprised of two sources:

1. What I've experienced growing my own and;

2. What I read in books and online, or gleen through friends and videos.


If you aren't a plant specialist with studies in marijuana's chemical make up, I'd probably have to say the same for yourself.

I do know stoned, though. And if you are saying that it's an impossibility that I had any psychotropic reaction to a fan leaf from my plants, than I have done the impossible... maybe.. Maybe I'm JeBus! Yeahh!!! I'm back baby! Doing the impossible with impunity, ignoring the laws of physics with a mere flick of the bic...

hey man i was with 2 heavy toker and i was stoned to ..
what does you must have a reverse tolerance......? i dont fully understand this
and also i know how a placebo efffect works but then again i know weed better . i was stoned of 8-10 fan leafs that were 5 weeks old. i aint lying to you

according to this study it is feasible to smoke the leaves and get high. Not that I recommend it nor have I done it.
But it does open some possibilities to know this. Of course we had to assume this was true taking into account we make hash out of the leaves, and that gets us high enough.
