Preflowers?

I'm a new grower, and Im not sure about the process of determining sex. I mean I understand about putting into flower and flipping back to veg and whatnot, but I am trying to just get natural preflowers. My camera is dead so I made up a sweet little mspaint to try to describe what I am seeing:

The purple stuff are the caylax, and in between the branch set and the fan leaves, there is new growth (the orange stuff) There are no balls or pistils yet, but from the naked eye, it looks like it has 2 prongs (These are not pistils as far as I can tell, just the shape of the preflower).

If they were male, would it be a distinct club? and how long before I began to see banana sacs? or does this descibe a female preflower, and if so, how long til I should be expecting pistils?

They sprouted on March 2nd, so they've been vegging 24/0 for 6 weeks.

Any help would be appreciated. If my plants are both males I am just going to rip them out and re-germ some more seeds. And if this is the case, I'd rather start sooner than later.

Thanks,

DrSnugs

What's good Doc? Alright so I set up a few pics to try and help you determine what the sex of your plants might be.

First off here is a shot of a female preflower. If the img. is too small I can try and resize it. They're not the best imgs. but they'll probably do the trick.

That white colored hair pointing up in the box is the female preflower coming out of the pistillate calyx. And that off shoot to the right of the preflower is called a stipule. Don't confuse that with a female preflower like some do.

Now here is a shot of male preflowers.

Now you can clearly see a "cluster" of staminate calyx's. This is a male and I tossed this S.O.B. as soon as I spotted the male flowers.

Now as far as those "bananas" you mentioned, those would be male flowers appearing on a hermaphrodite. My Skywalker just turned hermi on me a few days ago but I don't have imgs. on that yet. But those are easily identifiable and I wouldn't worry about it until you start flowering.

Calicoast, thanks again for a response.

I got some batteries together long enough to get this pic:

All the sites with "preflower" growth are just single looking sites like you see above. They aren't whispy like pistils, but there aren't clusters, just one per site.

From this, can you distinguish what type of preflowers (if they are even preflowers) they are?

Just keep on being patient and they'll show their sex pretty soon. Looks like it's still too early.
