are fem seeds any good?

looking to start a new crop with some better seeds. i asked the lady at my head shop about fem seeds and she said they werent good because they stress real easy and become hermies..is this true?should i just buy regular seeds?

Errr. I think you need to use stress induced hermi plants for it, if you use a natural occuring hermi it passes the gene on. maybe.. correct me if im wrong.

you are correct I actually stress induced my one kali mist to hermie it got a total of 3 pollen sacs and it pollinated itself and the other Kali Mist and I got a total of about 50 seeds off the 2 plants. To date I have germinated 10 seeds all were female and my mother plant that came from one of those seeds showed its sex in a matter of 3 weeks or so into veg. Was a very hardy and robust plant in fact even more so then its parent. So that is definitely the accepted method for true blue femmed seeds. But yes naturally occuring hermies aren't the ones you want that just shows the weakness of the genetics.

Finally someone who has tried it themselves and found proved it to be true. Im glad i was getting worried for a while bc i just harvested my plants and had about 300 good seeds in them and i no that the plant that hermied was stress induced. So now im confident they are feminized. Thanks for sharing Richard

how do u stress a plant into hermie ?

the way I did it was to pinch the stems and break the branches during flowering. Stressed them enough to get the few pollen sacs but they still produced a good amount of bud I did it the first 3 weeks of flowering. That probably depends on the seedbank, but no. Not if you get some from somewhere reputable.

Do not make a mother from Fem seeds.
If you are going to buy fem seeds and bud them out, you should be ok. But they WILL herm on you for sure.

I think that as long as the plant was for sure stressed to turn hermie they will be good fem seeds. but if it is a possibility it was genetics then i wont trust getting them from a person unless they know forsure. most seedbanks should be good though.

if you get down to the technical stuff any cannabis plant has the ability to hermie just all depends on what kind of stress it has been exposed to. You know how to grow right you shouldn't have a problem with solid genetics. It is a survival technique the plant uses when it thinks it has a chance of dying. Remember their whole goal in life is to reproduce.
