how to dry without shrinking buds

anyone got any advice on the best way to keep your buds from shrinking so much from drying? and i also was wondering how to keep some of the water wieght after drying, my last batch came out super fluffy the buds that would normally wiegh about 2 grams are only weighing 1. and if i cure them any sooner the buds get to wet and get that chlorophil grass clippings smell.

There's a very detailed FAQ at www.tokecity.com/forums/faq/growfaq

Here's the direct link to what you may want:

I feel you should look at your growing technique rather than trying to make something out of nothing.

If your buds are fluffy this could be for a number of reasons. Genetics is one of the factors, but if you feel your bud should weigh more then you should consider improving the space you grow in.

There is no way to keep your buds from shrinking, or loseing weight during the drying process, your buds are full of water mostly when they are growing, when you dry them, generaly that means to take the water out... so of course they are going to shrink and lose weight, i havent clicked on any of the links provided yet but im interested to see what they are if its a method to "keep your buds from shrinking during drying"

Curing will retain a tad bit more weight....but it takes longer than just drying. It's worth it for those with patience...I have none.

But as has already been pointed out, dry is dry... curing it properly will not allow it to hold more weight. The bud is either dry or it isn't.

well i know when you quick dry something it usually shrinks way more than if you slow dry and cure it. i had grew out a few afganis and the bud is awsome but is super fluffy, the 8ths look like quaters and the quaters look like halfs. i wasnt sure if i dried them to much or something? it seems like even compared with other buds of the same fluffiness they seem way lighter. i guess now that i think obout it they didnt really shrink to much because the buds are petty bug for there wight, it just seems like they are way lighter than they should be
