Lastest grow - need some help

Hey GC,

just stopping by to let you guys know I am growing again! Anyway...it aint illegal where I live (thank god) and I have my plant under a light right (duhh)

I have the light doing a 18/6 veg cycle

I have it go on a timer like this 9 hours on --- 1 hour off --- another 9 on --- 5 hours off

Would this be fine??? It just makes it easier to grow because of the system I am using I want the light to cool off every 9-12 hours.

Will this affect anything? I need to know quick b4 I fuck everything up.

It heats up lol.... idk I am never around and I dont want tha stupid light burning my house down...

I am just wondering if the 9 hours on --- 1 hour off --- another 9 on --- 5 hours off will b just fine because the plant will b getting a full 18hours... just in 2 intervals

ok well thanks I guess I am gona just put it on a full 18hour w/out stop... i have never used the light I am using so I was never sure how hot it would get...my vent system seems to be doing fine for now...I might need to go and grab another fan though ;D

your light probably takes less than an hour or two to get it's hottest, so letting it cool after nine hours would be pointless. as long as you wired everything the correct way and the light is not on top of a pile of dry leaves it should be alright. what kind of a light is it?

nice, thanks for the support guys... it is a HPS bulbnot too too high of a wattage though... so i guess it will b fine, I have already put my timer to correct new settings I can not wait for this bud (indoor skunk haze)

Your light doesn't need a cool-down cycle, especially an hour-long one. If it's your grow space that needs a cool-down, you should redesign your grow space. More ventilation.

That said, a short dark period during "daytime" won't hurt anything, except slow growth a little. It's the dark cycle that can't be interrupted.

Ok, well it was just a new light I was using I was not sure if my vent system in my grow room would work well with it,... and it does... been going for 13hours strait now...

your fluctuating light/dark cycle does not equate to 18/6. It is 9/1/9/5

I've never heard of such, but it can't be good.

If its your light thats hot an not the air in the room then its fine. Its made to run for long hours like 24/0

If the air in the room is hot then ducked the lighting air out
