The Turbogarden Ebb & Flow

My freind gave this to me for free, brand new with everything.

its just A waterpump that pumps nutrients up to the first tray and the nutes go back down. It says that the roots get alot of oxygen, but i dont think so because I dont think there is alot of root space if i put all the 5 inche net pots in.

(there are no holes in the 1st tray for the roots to go down to the resovoir since its a Ebb and FLow.

I never used a ebb and flow system. Im always just used to DWC with useing a airpump.

I was thinking that this ebb and flow system could only be good for starting out clones, seedlings, or doing a SOG style grow and nothing else. The whole measurements of it are 2 x 3.

I have a 600 watt hps, going to get a Mh conversion bulb, and have some extra CFL's. will get some more hid lights in a long time.

Also i was thinking that i could just put like 3 plants in there and flower them under a 600 watt .

So with ebb and flow ,the roots just sit out in air, and have nutrients pumped to them about 6 times a day for 15 min.?

i wanted to add a air pump but its pointless since the roots dont sit in the water like a DWC.

Would a DWC grow faster since there is a air pump on 24/7? and since ebb and flow roots just sit out in air or in the hydroton net baskets.
