Actually when you think about it, In a indoor garden you have more spare Vertical space then horizontal space.

But the real reason was, my roots grew threw the bottom of the pot, attempting to remove the plant from this pot would have ripped the root zone and killed the plant.

indoor gardens vary from grow to grow, so to say that is incorrect. i understand not wanting to repot after the roots went all the way through though, could have been trauma central.

may have stunted the growth but not sure about killing it. People cut back the plant to just the rootball and transplant it and it grows back fine with no problems.

I meant an actual indoor garden a full room or large closet that can be entered by a human being , not a grow cab or box which is limited on space in each direction.

Yes but people do a lot of useless things to their plants that I do not agree with. I treat my plants the best I can, reducing stress and physical harm as much as possible. The only time I even consider removing any of the root zone is for Re-generation of a plant.

Maybe so but one fact to keep in mind, Physical stress : excessive pruning, moving, light and heat are the leading causes of a Hermaphrodite plant.
