Lighting Question

I found a 175W mercury vapor light and i was wondering if it is any use at all i was reading up on it and i found out they are like metal halide bulbs which i have. So is it any use and also i wouldn't mind knowing how useful metal halide bulbs are either. Thank you for any responses

No, from all I've heard mercury vapor doesn't work for growing MJ.

i read in a few books that MV can be used, but its very hard, very hott, and very very innefficient. you'd be much better off with CFLS.

Do it right - get an HID light like a 400W Metal Halide or 430W High Pressure Sodium. You'll get results with these. Forget Mercury Vapor.

also, for that extra electricity and all your getting less efficient lights than even with CFL, with MV you generally get 61 lumens/watt and with CFL *shorter, cheaper, cooler* produce 70 lumens/watt and you can stick them closer, so much more of the light is used.
