Lowryder #2 Hydro vs. Soil

All 6 of these Lowryders are 4 weeks old. The one in the Bubble bucket and 3 in larger pots are all females. The 2 smaller ones have stopped growing for some reason. Anyways this is my first time trying hydro and I think I am in love. What a difference between the hydro and soil. All were grown in same space under same conditions and the hydro is at least twice as big.

yea of course hydro will grow faster but imo soil results in better buds.

i don't think i have ever heard that soil buds are better then hydro buds. I would think hydro would be a lot better.

from what i have read around here, hydro does appear to grow faster, but soil results in better buds.

i can not say from experience because ive never grown hydro, but at least you will be able to put it to the test now!

i have done a lot of reading on this subject today and from what I have read the potency can be the same as soil but if you screw up your hydro it affects the potency more then with soil. So as long as you do everything right the results will be the same just a higher yield

Update

They are both 9 weeks old and are ready for harvest. I can not believe how big the DWC LR2 got. Sometimes I have a hard time believing its a lowryder but it did auto flower. Most of the branches are about the size of the the plant in soil. I will update with harvest pics in a few days.

Holy shit! I haven't seen a lowryder result like that yet, congrats on the grow. That looks like an extremely large yield for lowryder that you've got in the bubble bucket. Give us a comparison between soil and hydro.

Did you top or fim?

I don't have a dry weight comparison yet but some of the branches on the hydro LR are bigger then the whole dirt LR. I fed her Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Grow and Bloom. I kept the ph at 5.5 and would check this at least twice a day. For lights she was under Floros for 3 weeks and a 400W HPS the next 6 weeks at 18/6 the whole time.

I still can not believe how big she got. I will have to wait 5 or 6 months prolly till I can see if I can duplicate this grow again. I currently have a Cindy 99 clone in a bucket.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I forgot to mention that I didn't trim, fim, or train this plant in any way. The weirdest part is that the bottom branches yielded the biggest bud.

I am leaving for work now but I will try to get some new pics up in the morning
