Transferring rockwool cubes to an ebb and flow table

my friend has some seedlings and clones in the little starter size rockwool cubes. He just transfered them to the ebb and flow table with bcuzz grow rocks for veg. The little rockwool cubes seem to be staying fairly wet. Is this ok? How should rockwool cubes with seedling be transfered to a flow table, like at what depth. Should he put the plants in pots with the rocks in them or fill the table with the rocks and let em in there loose?

Thanks for any help fellas.

my set up is simialar, i have an ebb and flo flood set up with a 2 in layer of river rock and i start in the little starter cubes then into 6x6 cubes set on top of the river rock, i flood the tray 15 min every 2 hours, the rockwool cubes have excellent water to air ratio and provide a stable base and the roots grow into the rocks, if it was just in the small cubes and placed in the rock i dont think this would be stable enough............peace
