When is it best time to top your girl? After 3rd set of nodes or should i wait till they alternate?

What is the earliest you can clone your girl?

Is there a particular height you should start flowering at to keep your girl to a wanted end height?

You can top when the plant is like 2 or 3 weeks old or around the 3rd or 4th nodes, you dont have to wait til they alternate cause thats the sign of a maturing plant. You can clone one as soon as you can get a good cutting, i.e. about the same time you can top or fim. Remember that a plant will double usually TRIPLE in size when you flower. If height is an issue keep that in mind, but dont focus so much on how tall it is focus more on how long you've vegged. You could veg for 2 months and with proper training and pruning you can keep it around 2ft or smaller or you could veg for a month and not touch it and it could be 3ft. The longer you veg the more you can yield.
