CFL blubs

I've been using CFL lighting with this grow,I just bought two 1200 lumen - 19 watt bulbs
on the packaging it said the bulbs where bright white.whats the difference between these four bulb types?

Standard
Soft white
Bright White
Day Light

Also, there was a warning to no use with a timer device on my current CFL bulb, should I look past the warning?Has anyone came across that warning before?Out of all the CFL bulbs I have thats the only warning I've seen of that type.

Color temperature is the difference between those bulbs.

- Warm White / Soft White CFL - <3000K
- White - <3500K
- Cool White -4000K
- Day Light >5000k

Not sure about the warning. I don't use CFLs too much, but I would probably be a little weary. The manufacturer put it on there for a reason? Who is the manufacturer, and what is the bulb model?

thanks.yeah I've figured it was on there for a reason, just thought there would have been somebody that did it any way with a bulb that had a warning like that.I don't have the brand or bulb model on me at this moment.maybe I'll post it up for future info for other CFL growers.thanks again.

are you sure the warning isn't to not use it with dimmers, which is true (except there are some energy star ones that are compatable with them I think) doesn't make sense not to use it with a timer which is basically just a timed light switch, unless its thinking of rapid on/off cycles which isn't good for the lights.

i used cfls on a timer for my last grow, and am using the same for my current grow. no issues thus far, id say you are fine. the warning is probably there to cover manufacturers ass in the event something happens, but i dont see a problem using a timer.

The poster who talked about CFL's and dimmers is correct, do not use them together.

the warning for not using them with timers, is well, CFL's have a frequency, and that frequency in-fact CAN mess with wireless timers, causing sporadic light schedules.

It's true, it happened to me, and a 50$ wireless timer.

Yes, they would be sufficient. If I were you I might add a third for good measure. Also, make sure that is actual wattage and not equivilent wattage.
