Help Growing In My Attic. Can it work??

Hello gc. I have all the equipment to grow from my last grow. I own a 400w MH/HPS ballast. I have grown in a closet before to my parents knowledge, but after realizing what they were letting me do they said it was the one and only time.

So heres my situation. I have an attic that NO ONE EVER goes into theres absolutly nothing in there and the only time someone would go in there would be to put a fire out.

So this attic would be a perfect place to grow some mary jane, except there are NO OUTLETS!! So im here to see if anyone has any tips or anything i can do to make outlets or be able to have my pumps, timer, ballast, and fan going.

So pretty much all i need to grow in this attic is. Outlets, ventalation, and some veg nutrients.

Cool

Hi mate i currently grow in my mates atic what you need to do is find out where the walll in one of the rooms below is must have a plug socket in it then drill a hole between the wall cavity if you unscrew the socket from the room wall and try shine a light in so you can tie a piece of string round the wire tie a small wieght on the other end and lower it down once you can get the wieght just pull the cable throught and get a spark (electrician) to wire your plug into the plug in the room and by the looks of your attic you could get ia nice number of plants up there good luckon

Just make sure that your lights do not create a lot of heat. Because when helicopters fly over they have heat sensors to look at houses and to see if the attic is hot. Then they will investigate further and eventually you will get caught. CONTROL THE HEAT

it depends where you live if you really got to worry about the heat, for one thing they cant fly a helicoptor over everones house, thats impossible so they choose areas to fly over that are likley to have people growing indoors, i.e, heavely populated low income urban area's. if you live in a rural area or the suburbs its not that bad. if you live in a cold climate and get alot of snow you also have to watch for snow melting off your roof, that might get your neighbors thinkin. as far as electric, call a electrician in and just tell him you want another circuit run out of your breaker box so you can put a light up there so you can see better or something, he wont care if your lieing or not, but if your going to do it you might as well add another cicuit so you have no inturuption in power, peace

as far as the whole helicopter thing. like i said i will be using a 400 watter which isnt really a lot given the space of the attic. If heat sensors did see it it could be a heat leak or something else

its really easy, i had this scenario when i use to live at home with my parents. First turn on the light that you have up there and go to the circuit breaker and turn off various circuits to see which one the circuit in the attic goes to. The circuit breaker will be labeld withe the amperage of the circuit. for a 400 watt i doubt ur going to have to worry about getting an entirely new circuit up there.

This is what i would do. Go buy some wire at a store to wire up your own outlet. Your going to have to shut the breaker off, dismantle the light, find the white wire(positive) and the black wire (negative/ground) and wire it to a receptacle that you can find at home depot or something. Wire it up and turn the circuit back on. There yah go, now yah have outlets up there. Make sure you use wire that is rated for your circuit breaker. if its a 20amp circuit breaker, tell the guys this at the store when u buy the equipment for it. Tell them exactly what you want to do and they will explain it to you. Its there job to sell you the right stuff. message me if you have any more questions.

+rep is always welcome if you find this useful :-)

I wouldn't worry about the helicopters too much mate as long as your not running more than one 1000w or 5 600w lamps the feds are more interested in the commercial growers not us people who are just at it for a good smoke and anyway if you are worried about this then invest in a top quality air cooled lights and carbon fillter you shouldn't get much prob from the fewds if you keep it low key and try not to let the chick know its there other wise if you fall out then she might just GRASS you in as revenge hell hath no fury like a woman scorned mind you the same could be said about some of the pussy's that live round here Ha HA

Don't grow in your parents' house. I am quite sure that when they told you 'no' before they were referring not just to the closet but to growing anywhere in their house. Grow as you wish when you have your own place -- in the meantime respect your parents' wishes because it is their place.

Im currently going through the same exact situation mate. I got an attic like that one too that noone ever goes in and this is what i did for electricity. Very very very very easy. Go to home depot or anyplace like that and get and electrical outlet that screws into a light socket. Some however only allow you to plug a cord with two prongs into it (which can be a problem cuz ur lights etc prob have 3 prongs on the end of the electrical chord). So i had to get another little piece that plugs into that and has the three holed socket thing on the other side so you can plug in that type of cord. Im not good with elctricty at all so the descriptions prob sound rly vague and retarded but its what i did so hopefully you can too.
