cfl wattage question

I'm about to do 40 in. tall 20 wide 15 deep grow with one plant using scrog.

Is 156 cfl watts or 5200 lumens of soft whites (6) sufficient to get some fat buds?
Should I get some floro tubes and line the walls of the box to add some light to the branches or just more cfl's.

I don't think I want to mess with HPS or MHS due to lack of money, and I don't want to have to worry about the heat.

Currently all the cfl's are above the plant like a canopy..

ANY INPUT HELPS this is my first indoor grows

yea i have some advice for ya...move a few of those CFL's so that you're getting light from all sides, not just the top.

Also im guessin you have 26w CFL's...but low lumes...maybe try to find some CFL's that are rated "daylight 6500k" and have over 1600 lumes/per bulb. If you buy (6) of those your total lumes goes from 5200 to 9600. They have the daylight bulbs at most walmarts or home depot for cheap...3pk i think for $12.

Also maybe buy a few reflectors/clamp fixtures for the top lights like in the picture below...i just bought this one from walmart for $6 and included the power cord and everything. You can clamp it down anywhere and adjust it perfectly.

Sorry I was really stoned when i made that post...they are 1700 lumen bulbs, meaning I have 10,200 lumens altogether...I might check those clamps out, they look handy if I get some more cfl's, I can make little posts of somethin to hold them up and angle that light in there.

Anyone have any thoughts/advice about floro tubes lining each wall to really *fill in* branches and buds?

your better off just fitting a small cfl to fill in branches and buds. Floro tubes are kinda eh... unless you get the T5's.

Haha...same thing I did...I bought 2 cheap 2' fluoro fixtures from a local lowes. They were open box returned items for $5 each. Normally they are about $10 each. I then bought (4) 2' fluorescent bulbs...(2) daylight 6500k, (1) sunshine 5100k, (1) plant & aquarium.

I use the fluoro tubes on the outsides and as you can see from the picture i light up the middle with the CFL's. I'll switch out those daylight 6500's with the sunshine and plant tubes for flowering stage but i do rotate them in there once every few days for a few hours.
