Compact florescent & timers

Hi,

I was reading the packaging from a 42w flourescent bulb (the coiled flourescent that fits into regular light sockets) and it said:

"Do not use this lamp with dimmers, photo sensors, or electric timers."

Is it unsafe to use it with a digital timer?

The timer I am referring to is the small square block style with an LCD on it, and fits directly into a wall outlet, and then you plug your power bar into the outlet on the timer. (hope that made sense!!)

Thanks!

-G

If you're worried, put 'em on a power strip and plug that in to the timer.
