transplanting from soil to soilless mix

hello grass city . i have a 2 1/2 month old plant, in soil, that isn't doing so well and i was wondering if could transplant to soilless and not kill it. thanks in advance to confess, im having a hard time with balancing pH and am having lots of nutrient lockout. i heard soilless mix is good for novice growers, is that true?
