transplant 4 weeks into flower?

will it help to transplant 4 weeks into flowering? the plants look fine and i dont want to transplant, but my buddy wants to....the plants look fine to me at 18 inches several tops via FIM with cadberry egg sized nuggs in about a one gallon container, theyhave a slight yellowing some of the older leaves.my theory is that if it isnt broke dont fix it ,but would transplanting with nutrient free medium be benificial at this point in the game.
thanx, scary

Wait so you want to transplant because of the yellowing leaves? Usually someone would transplant due to root bounded roots. If thats the case my plant is just over 3 feet and is sitting in a 3 gallon pot which is way to small for it. All my leaves point downwards and its been like that for months now just not as dramatic as it is now but im chopping her donwn on sat. so im not worried about it and i wasnt worried about when i first noticed back in april and shes got massive buds so i wouldnt do it

if the plant isnt in jeapordy of dying than dont do it!!!!! Transplanting a plant is no easy task you risk a bunch of things such as added stress, shock, death, and you could delay the plant by weeks. Also the bigger and more mature the plant is the harder it is to get it out of the original pot. You said the plant is at 18in. when i did mine it was at about the same and i did it to three plants with success but it was an absolute NECECSITY!!!! and all three were still vegging under 24 hr. light so my recovery time was basically nothing. Imo dont do it unless you risk death or yeild for sure

Here's a pic of a plant at almost 6 weeks into flowering that was still in a 6 inch starter pot and almost 5 feet.
Transplanted it the next day into a 5 gallon pot.
Now it's put out 4 new nodes. It's trying to grow and flower at the same time.
Long story.

transplanting four weeks into flowering is not a good idea. your already half done if your bloom period is 8 weeks. some people go by the rule of thumb that for every 1' of growth you need one gallon of soil/potting space. my three eldest ladies are about the same height (18") and they are in 3 quart containers, mainly because i need to be able to fit 10 containers in my cab. they are doing great!! i've got seven more (clones) in the same size pot and i'm gonna finish this grow in those pots. i guess it's a bit of an experiment to see how much plant i can get/and how well they'll do in pots that are 1/2 as big as the ones i've been using. if you're bro insists on transplanting, water them and let them drain out a bit. the wetter the soil the better chance of the root ball not breaking apart. if you're good, the soil/roots will come out in the shape of the pot they are in, and stay that way throughout the transplant. once in a bigger pot, the roots might or might not spread out. at this point in flowering, my guess is they won't spread, hence my advise to keep em where they are. good luck.

I'd say dont do it. For all the reasons everyone above have listed, including the best reason of all (your's) If it aint broken dont try and fix it!!! It looks like it's putting out some pretty nice nuggs. Are you sure that the older leaves turning yellow is a bad thing? 4 weeks into flowering you should be depriving it of N and yellowing it out a little anyway, right?

My $.02, keep them in the current pots, harvest, enjoy and use it to learn for next time, just go to a big container right away, from clone/seedling to a 3~5 gal. pot for the rest of its life cycle.

i wouldn't risk it. they look fine. and istandalone is correct with the roots. right now its concentrating on growing buds, not roots. vegging gets the plant to have a good root system, flowering focuses the plants growth on buds
