Question on lighting I have bought :)

Hi all. I am a newbie and have recently purchased two different types of lighting. The first one I bought off of ebay and didn't really know anything about it at the time, and I thought the bulb I bought was an actual lamp, but turns out it is just a bulb, can anyone give me any info on this bulb if it is a good one to use and what to use with it?

This is the second one: Compact FLuorescent Grow Light to 400 w HPS MH/ 50 watt FLUOREX

I am growing indoors, also taking them outside during the day. They are about 2-3 weeks old, and fairly nice looking so far, but does have some stretching, so I am hoping one of these lights will help. I have just been using a plant light combo with a metal hood I got at home depot that is probably about 8 inches or so from my plants.

I don't understand what this means. The photo of your second light is a pair of CFLs, so what is the reference to HPS and MH? What are the actual wattage and color temp of those CFLs?

That was the title that they had on their ebay listing, so that is what I wrote, if it doesn't make sense sorry, I don't have a clue and I still haven't recieved the CFL yet. I just didn't know what to get for the first bulb and was hoping someone on here would know something about it. I don't. Thanks.

Here’s the deal: At night when you are outside, the eye’s cones stop working. You have to rely on the B/W vision rods to see. And the rods happen to be more sensitive to blue light, which fluorex light has more of. So when it’s really dark, it’s as if the fluorex unit is producing more lumens of light. It’s not really. Another deficiency of the flood light fluorex fixture that you normally see is the troublesome lens. It cuts down on the light output of the fixture.
