3 Options, You Pick!

Which has the greatest potential for my lighting requirement?

A) 9 400watt HIDs-----> 3600watts total
B) 6 600watt HIDs-----> 3600watts total
C) 4 1000 watt HIDs---> 4000watts total

I would go with option C.

I would go with option B personally, better efficiency in terms of lumens and also better coverage and not so many heat spots which 1,000w lamps can often cause.

I'd say we need more information.

How big is the room?
How many plants?

By majority: B) 6 600 watt HIDs ---> 3600watts total Wins! (these will be inline cooled!!!)

Question 2:
How many plants should I fit under each 600 watt lamp(these are the number of plants that I can raise through maturation under a single 600watt HID)?

A) 4 in a 2x2 area-----> 150watts/plant
B) 9 in a 3x3 area-----> 66.67watts/plant
C) 16 in a 4x4 area----> 37.5watts/plant
D) You Pick the quantity and space required.[/center]

Yeah, B is the way to go on the light. 600w HPS has the best lumens-per-watt count out of them all. As for the plants... I'd go with A.

I have to agree and say option B but option A seems more versitle..There are so many more things you can do with A than B ...I mean like you can put 1 on the floor 1 on each wall and 4 overhead or spread them out same as you would do with option B but have more area to cover..... but option c is the least expensive on the light bill if you convert them all to 240's. As for the heat problem- well you are gonna have the same amount of heat out of 6 600's as you wil 4 1000's or 9 400's....Try it n see...lol but at least with 4 1000's you wiill have less duct work to pull off. This whole thing is crazy I gotta smoke...fuckers makein me think.
