Newbie Quesions

I have a few newbie questions.

1st. Is it bad to wait till the plant is like 6in. and then switch it to 12/12 lighting just to find out the sex and then switch it back to 24hrs of light?

2nd. I heard that 24 hrs of light is bad that is what i have my plants on now and everytime i have tried to grow and then stopped being a chicken i grew on 24 hrs. but i heard that if you grow on 24hrs it will make the plant bad or something. dude said 18/6 so that it had a break everyday. was he wrong?

3rd. Can you make hash out of males? Just incase i unfortunately get males i have 8 plants growing and i know the average is going to be like 3 fems.

Which is going to suck seeing i am growing 4 different strains and some bag seed which looks just as good as the rest.

They are just a few weeks old and they fucking stink. LOL. the Master Kush smells the best.

4th. I have them all in 8in pots is that to small or more like the min.

If i should wait till it is all done veging to find out if i have fems. is it bad to cut clones when it is flowering cycle. i dont want to put to much stress on the plants.

I am sure i will have more questions but for now that is all i can think of.

1. Quite a few people sex plants then put them back in veg so yes you can do it.

2. 24/0 and 18/6 both work fine. 18/6 saves you some money on electric.

3. I've never done it but yeah you can make hash with males although I doubt you'd get much. I believe most people cook with the males.

4. You may get by with 8 inch pots. I guess it depends on how big you plant on growing your plants. If you plan on sexing then reverting back to veg then I'm guessing that you may need something bigger. You can clone during flowering but it isn't recommended or as effective. The earlier in flower you are, the better chance of them taking root and being viable.
