Sand!!

has and one tried growing in sand ? kinda like hydro but just in sand . please let me know i was going to try but just want to know if anyone has done this yet and has any tips or any kind of info ..

I think that it would be a bad idea. Sand is too fine and could weigh a lot in a little container. I think it would pack too tight together and wouldn't give the roots room to grow through. Sand might make an all right ammendment as long as you don't use a lot of it. Also you need to be very carefull with what kind of sand you use. you have to make sure it is super clean and sterilized to the max. There is all sorts of minerals in sand that could cause a lot of problems! Lime being a huge one.

Try coco peat same idea, but a lot better since coco retains water well(unlike sand lol) while getting lots of air to the roots kinda like hydro with a soiless mix. Lots of threads around do a search.

coco, aka "coir" in it's shredded form is exellent stuff to grow in. do two parts coir to one part perlite and you'll have one healthy root system.
