Few questions; LST and topping

1.) is the main focus of LSTing to keep the stem low+ have it grow in a circular motion, so that when it flowers the buds get all the light? Or is there more to it?

2) Is it necessary to do step 1 in the LST guide (somethin about cloning a 3 leaf plant), or can u do it with any plant?

3.) Does trimming off fan leaves have any adverse effects? (And if u were growing a white strain for example, could u scrape off the fan leaves THC during harvest?)

4.) About how often, or how many inches, would u put another hook?

5.) is topping a one time thing? If not at what intervals would u cut the stem?

6.) Is Lsting and topping cool to do w/ the same plant?

7.) At what stage in the plants life would u begin LSTing and topping?

1)yes basically and if you top you'll be having more bud sites with even lighting.
2)any plant seed or clone
3)you shouldn't unless they are going to die anyway they are the plants food you can do whatever you want at harvest
4)every other node
5)you can top about as much as you want see homegrowers grow journal
6)recommended
7)until it has 3 or 4 leaf sets some say 5, but if you going to LST as much as you can you could wait until you run out of room.
