what makes a plant go hermie? help please!

Hey everyone, im new to growing and i have a seedling right now. it was growing in the windo for awhile but i recently just transplanted it to a bigger pot and i am kind of worried it might turn hermie. i had the light on it all day yesterday, turned it off at night, and its been on all day today. well now i want to go to the 24/0 schedule if i did this would it it be confused and go hermie since theres no night all of a sudden? thanks in advance

I have never grown before, but my advice to you would be to just abort that entire plant... It sounds like the environment hasn't had any controlled variables what-so-ever.

If it has been getting 12+ hours of dark for one reason or another at an early age, I would just trash it and start over, only this time carefully outlining your entire project.

It will be fine... in a seedling stage it shouldn't fuck it up too much. Once the plant starts flowering (12/12) light leaks will cause problems.

Once you start growing a few of these you see just how forgiving the MJ plant is. I hate to use such a cliche but 'they don't call it weed for nothing'. I agree that this won't be the best plant because of the rough start but he can probably finish it fine. Look at the start of my grow log where i abused the shit out of some soil grows. None hermied and I kept one all the way to flower - smoked it the other day... not bad.

MJ is very tough stuff as buddah said, I think mine were at a PH of about 9 for about 2 months lol, then when I checked the PH I was like OMG, and the temps in the beginning were hitting over 90! but they pulled through that, obviously it does mean I could have done better, but thats what grow number 2 is for! and besides, your plant looks very young so you should be fine!

Nice try, #1 can cause a hermie, #2 the seeds are hermies and the true #1 cause of hermies...Light leaks.

Genetics or environmental stress, the two sources of hermies.
