closet grow w/ HPS or growbox w/ CFL's?

hey all! for my first grow i planned on using a 400w HPS in my 2' x 2.5' x 5' growbox, which is inside my closet. the problem is that is 5' probably isn't enough height and also that the temp gets up to 90ish. even with a 180 cfm 4" inline fan exausting directly into the sewer (no resistance from a scrubber) it gets that hot. so should i switch to CFL's and keep using the growbox?

OR should i get rid of the growbox and just grow in my entire closet (5' x 7' x 7')? that closet is big (about 245 sq feet) so my 180 cfm fan would be a little small. also, the walls in the closet are painted an off white color and i can't paint them since i rent.

5 feet is plenty room for your plants to grow all the way through budding, I had a 1000 wat HPS bulb with 10 plants and my closet was only 8 feet tall, I still had 4 feet of room to spare and if you crack the door and put a fan in there it doesnt get above 90 degrees in there.

but I was doing hydro, I find it alot easier and more efficient then soil. Takes up less space, grows faster, and i get a better yeild.

How about using the box for veg. and the closet for flowering? If you can only run one space use the closet though.....
