Short and sweet:

I have tese 42 Watt Fluorex Bulbs. They do not work in incandescent sockets.

How Can I get them to work without buying an entire security light?

Well I will give you my 2 cents from what I have learned in the last 2 weeks... You got that at Lowes? Just a geuss anyway... If you go to Walmart they have a Flouro security light just like what that is for.. It comes with a bulb and everything for a security light for $27 I think... Ive looked at it and I think you could modify everything to work you just need to be either brave or electrically inclined... Ya dig? I was afraid of running it on the circuit my box is going to be running on... If you could hard wire it to the breaker box I think it would work...

if you already have the bulb just go to wal mart or k mart and get one of those 8" reflector clamp lights, comes with everything but the bulb and you just plug it in and it has a clamp with a reflector for mounting

if its a mogul base u should be able to get one on ebay for like 50 cents
