Mother Plant

Does a mother plant stay in the veg state forever or how does it work, exactly? Is it possible to keep a mother plant at a height of 12 inches it's entire life?

Yep mother plants stay in veg. Some mother plants have been kept around for 20+ years. With training and topping yes you can keep the plant whatever size you want.

So you take clones from a mother plant, then put the clones back into veg?

hmm. Can you just take a clone from a flowering plant and put it in veg; or is that not good?

You can take clones and put them into veg if you want to grow them bigger or if you are doing a SoG setup or the like then you can put clones into flower as soon as they root. They come from a sexually mature plant so they are already sexually mature also. Plants from seed take about a month to mature and be ready to flower so you save a little bit of time by using clones. You also know it'll be a girl and how it'll grow if you use a clone since it is a genetic copy of the mother.

Clones can be taken from flowering plants but the odds of it being successful go down. You can regenerate the plant after harvest and take clones though.
