Carbon Filters

I am looking for some tips on making an air scrubber. here is my idea. I want to take an old exhuast fan and hook up a carbon filter system to it. I want to know if anyone has tried something like this. Hook up duct hose to the exhaust fan and then to a piece of pvc which will house the carbon filter material (if you can get it like that) and then continue the duct outside. What do ya think will this work? Thanks

I've hear of ppl using a 5 gallon bucket. Drill vent holes all along the outside of the bucket. Line the inside with wire mesh. . Make a 6 inch mesh cylinder, with a bottom, and an open top. make it the same height as the bucket. Put the mesh cylind in the middle of the bucket. Fill the bucket up with activated carbon or even kitty litter. Don't fill the inside of the mesh cylinder. Then get a 6 inch duct flange, and some 6 inch duct line or dryer vent hose. Cut a hole in the lid of the bucket so the flange can fit snugly in the center of it. Then tape the top of the mesh cylinder to the flange and close the lid. Then attach the flange to ductowork and a fan. So the fan will suck the air through the the vent holes in the outside of the bucket, which will pass through the carbon or kitty litter, and up through the mesh cylinder and out of your grow space. Can line the outside of the bucket with some of those carbon screens too for more odor control.
Godd luck

I'm going to try that. That's a wicked idea.
