Container Size effect growth?

What would happen if a plant was left to grow in a container approximatly 1-2 liters in size?

Would it just restrict the size and yield of the plant? Or would it not let the plant bud at all?

I was just wondering because I am beginning to think transplanting right now would be a bad idea.

i dont know..i tried growin in a 1 liter.. it never went past 6th branchset.. it just kinda froze ori idd something wrong. i gave up with it and killed it.. u'll need at least 2 gallons to grow buds.. im using a 5 galloner and its going good! space really does mean something after all, you can use little 1 liters or 2 liters if you are growing clones (branches cut off from mother plant and put into a small cup and it'll produce 1 or 2 buds. maybe im wrong?
