hey if the seedling has just started and it has 4 leaves on it would it be best to give it 24/0 or just 18/6 so that it can have 6 hours of dark for roots and stuff??? anyone know???

Some people happen to think that a 24-7 cycle will stress the plant into becoming a herm, but there has been no controled recording to prove this.

Im currently using a 24-7, but if you look on that link you will see there are some advantages of a 18-6.

You can go at any time you like (if you want shorter plants you don't let them veg for too long before putting them into flowering). With most strains it is done when they start showing sex.

18/6 vs. 24/0 is just like deciding if the chicken or the egg came first. both sides have there proponents and both ways will work. 18/6 saves $$$ is what it boils down to for a lot of peeps.

i use 16/8 for vegging, mainly so that the hours i'm in my room sleeping my cab isn't running- those fans make some noise. lights off at 9pm, on again at 5am. i have not noticed any difference in growth as opposed to 18/6.
