Lights, Heat, Smell Relationship question

ok so here is my question for an indoor small cabinet grow.

first off, there needs to be no smell, and i wonder what you guys recommend? So far im planning on using a carbon filter.

now for the relationship part.

say....the lights are on and the fan is on the heat will be at a constant level. Now when the lights are in their off cycle should the fan still be on?

because if there are no lights on, there isnt much heat being produced. So do you keep fan on all the time or jsut when the lights are on?

also as the plant grows, it requires more cooling so would it be best to start with 1 fan then use 2 or how do you guys recommend going about this?

also how do you hook up the pc fans? what do you need to connect them too inorder for there to be just the right ammount of power going to it?

i forgot to mention it would use floros

how do these carbon filters work? and are all of them like the can shaped? is it possible to just get a sheet of it
that way a circle can just be cut out of it and put over the fan.

??

just from my personal experience i have 2 pc fans running constantly. to hook up your pc fans you need a 12v dc adapter. i got mine at radioshack for like 20 bucks. i have both fans hooked up to the one adapter. red is positive blaack is negative, just cut the end off the adapter and hook em up. my adapter came with a solid white wire which is positive and the other wire had a black line which was negative.

I have an 80rpm (?) pc fan that I wired to a 20v adapter... I used to run it off of a 12v battery but it went through them too fast.

With the adapter, it even runs a bit faster than before, and has been going for almost two weeks now. No problems.

pc fans run on 12 volts. I am a certified PC tech. there is no 20 volt source in a computer.
it will run on 20 volts, and a lot faster, but they will eventually burn out on 20 volts.
