Ferts and sexing

Hey people! I'll be damned if I didn't give the fert/water mix a boost recently under 24/7 CFL's and lo and behold I see little pre-flowers just where they should be. I'm using the Schultz's Expert Bloom Plus (10-60-10) and a little extra cuz they're very strong at the stalk and branches at 7 weeks of vegging. Is it possible that the fert's triggered the pre-flowers? Is this a better way to go than trying to use the absence of light to get an advanced look at what sex they are?

Sexing plants in the preflower stage is truly an art. I always wait until 12/12 to definately know the boys from the girls. It's a tedious enough job at that point. Even looking thru a magnifying glass I would never throw away plant until I was dam sure.
