96w CFL Grow Test

This is my grow test for a later grow, and I'm using some tomatos and watermelons as the test subjects. The box is an old beer carton, so space is strictly limited - I'm thinking of dwarfing my future weed grow by topping and perhaps LST'ing, as well as an early flowering.

I'm using 2 x 48w CFL, at a 3000K spectrum. This is because I couldn't find anything in the 5000~6500K range at this sort of wattage, so please - no comments on upgrading to 6500K lights. The box is 16 inches high, 11 inches wide, and 7 inches deep - so this will be a micro-grow to say the least! But when I do start my MJ, it'll be for personal use only so I dont really mind. I also have a 3'' computer fan to suck hot air out and strengthen the stems somewhat. The inside is lined with foil, I'm thinking of upgrading to Mylar as soon as I can, but I'll see how things go with the test plants. I'll post pics of the plants when they germinate.

Run it for 18 hours, and measure the temps. I'm curious to see how hot a little box like that would get.

Cheers for the interest guys. And yeah, I've been running it for 2 days now, and the temp is pretty consistent at around 70~80'F I think [dont actually have a thermometer]. The plants are sprouting as well, will post some pics when there are leaves to see. For the moment they're just green shoots about 1/8~1/6 inch long.

OK, everything is happy and sprouted now. The tomatos are 'Grosse Lisse' strain, and have sprouted right on cue, 6 days after planting. The watermelons have been going for maybe 3 days above ground, and seem to be pretty slow even with constant lighting, good temps and water. If you're wondering about the cups, they are sitting in one with no holes, and the ones containing soil have holes for drainage. Here are the pics:

And a close-up of the tomato plants; I planted 3 seeds and think one was dead - it sprouted early but went brown very quickly.

8 days after sowing - stems are strengthening and leaves are developing and growing.
EDIT: The watermelon are lazy b*stards! They're taking forever, even in optimal conditions!
