Closet Grow Status-Questions & PICS!!!

since my other thread was deleted (not hatin, just makin a new one), i wanted to make this thread for comments on my plants. one is 24 days old, in the white container, and the one in the orange container is 19 days old. the seeds were out of a sack of good shit i had one time. ive heard that can be an indicator of how good the buds will be after they grow, is there any truth to that?

here are some pics. if anyone is gifted enough to tell me anything about the plants, their growth, their strain, if they are indica/satvia dominant etc, i would love to hear some comments. i know my setup is ghetto, and small, but this is purely for fun, and personal use. im just looking for any information that anyone might be able to pull from just looking at the pics...if not its cool, regular comments are fun!

ill post more pics, i dont have time right now. but lemme know what you guys think...

Thanks in advance!

Nice work - I'm considering doing something similar, just a small personal use grow. The plants you're growing should have the same characteristics [high-wise] as the bud you got the seeds out of. So if it was a nice mind-high, its sativa dominant. A couch-lock bud means indica dominant. Of course, if you do a better job of growing than the guy you got the buds off, you can expect a better end result! Other than that, I can't give a lot of advice at all...but good luck!

right now i only have a 16 inch, 40 watt flouro tube. ive been meaning to get out to the store for 2 cfl's to add. i am extremely limited space wise, and somewhat limited money wise, so this is more of an experiment. i know what i have isnt what i should have, but whatever ya know, im havin fun. the only money i put into this was the money i paid for the sack that contained the seeds...if that even counts.

even though there doesn't appear to be any good light in those pics, i had to turn the light around so i could actually get a good pic. when the light is put directly on them, there is a decent amount. i can tell a definite difference in size, even after one night. they were stretching big time early on, so i started using a fan for a few hrs a day. my setup doesnt allow room for a fan all the time, so i just use it a little at a time. it works very well though, the stems are a lot stiffer, and the leaves up top are opening up much wider.

as far as ive gotten, i can honestly say im very suprised. i seriously cant believe that they even germinated, let alone sprouted...since my area is so small, i plan on putting it into flowering in 2-3 weeks, depending on how big it gets. my dimensions again are 10x10, 18 inches tall.

i want to repot them, but again space is limited. i was thinkign maybe of getting the biggest pot i can fit in there, and dividing it in half somehow, and putting one on each side. is this a good idea if i can ensure the roots wont entangle? and, i guess i should wait to see the sex, so i dont put a possible male next to a possible female.

sorry its so long, but i just get spurts of questions that hit me all at once. thanks for the help guys, i appreciate it.

i'd say if you can somehow divide a bigger pot so the roots don't tangle you'll be allright. and above all i'd say you need more light. also for $1.69 at walmart they sell emergency blankets which are mylar. cut a piece as big as your pot with slit from the center to the edge. slide this around the stem and it'll reflect alot of otherwise lost light up to the plant. good luck.

40w fluro eh? Yeah, I thought the wattage might be a bit on the low side - I've seen some plants at 19 days that were a bit more advanced, thats the only thing giving it away at the moment. But as you said if its an experiment for fun then who cares? Good idea on the big pot thing, when you get it also get something like an empty binder-book...then you can use the plastic cover to divide the pot. Just cut it out so that it fits with relatively few gaps and you'll be sweet.

Haha, and thanks for the comment on my sig! I had to remake it after it got deleted for being too big. Before it was cartoonised UN troops on a blue background, with the same text running up the side. But yeah, I like my little pipe, it hits well and has a big bowl. Its sturdy as all-get-out, and it was cheap! Got the trifecta on that one i reckon.

I'm pulling up a chair for this one, be good to see how it goes for you.

Best of luck!

thanks for the advice, im going to find a bigger pot and get started on that. and more light of course. i think ill wait to see the sex before i replant them, or should i do it anyway? i guess i could just rip it out and put more soil in if one turns out male...what is suggested?

Just replant them. Compacted roots now will mean a sick plant later, so the sooner the better. And when it comes time to check their sex, if you find a male you can always just ditch it [ie: make cannabutter from it!] and devote the whole pot to the remaining plant.

i have a blacklight that sits in my closet, not being used for anything. is there any use for it in my cabinet? any added benefit for putting it on the plants?

Hey cupcheck why don't you get a square pot and transplant into that. Look to add as much ligh as you can and get it as close as possible. If you are limited on height then repot, wait a week and then start the 12/12. Otherwise they are going to run out of space.

that would have been my next question, how big should i let them get before i start flowering...ive read that most growing will take place during the flowering stage. flowering lasts 8 weeks right?

20 days old...

both together...

i finally got my gf's cam, so i wanted to take some quality pics.

is it worth it to maybe tie down each new branch as it comes off, in an LST type method, to keep it from growing straight up??? (again, im limited on vertical space.)

LST, or Low Stress Training is definitely worth it if you only have an 18 inch high gorw cupboard. Basically, what you described is pretty much how it works, and now is a good time to start for your plants. Do some searches on it to find some good info. As for height, try letting them get just over halfway to the height you can still keep them in the cupboard at, then trigger flowering.
