i believe mogul base screws into a large socket than a normal socket. btw, you're links arent working so i have no idea what lamp or adapter you are talking about. the light you are talking about is a CFL thats set up in a circular pattern, right? the tubes are U shaped an theres a lot of them, right?

is it practical to use a setup like this for 15-20 plants? or would it just be better to go with an mh and hps setup?

friendwithfungi, one can never have too much light unless the lights make the room too hot. I suppose 1 26 watt will grow bud just not very much of it. Get as many as you can.

FEAR, for 15-20 plants you are better off with at least 1000 watt HID. Any less than that and you can cut the plant amounts in half and basically get the same yield.

You can flower in a one-five gallon pot. It is really your choice.

As many watts as you can. The plant will flower with a bare minimum of 30 watts per square foot.

Should I use only daylight bulbs when the plant is growing and soft white when flowering or is it ok to use both?

I am trying to figure out lighting for a grow room in the attic 5' x 8' but the ceiling height is aproximately 6' and angled downward from the roof slope. I fear that a MH or HPS system will have too much heat and will take up too much space from the 6' height of the room.

Therefore I was looking at t-5 Flourescent lighting, 4ft x 4 tubes.

How well will this work?

Thanks in advance

If you plan to light the whole 5' x 8' space you will need at least 600 watts. If you just plan for 3-4 nice plants, the T-5 will be great.

I'm a noob and got some questions. I went to walmart today and bought a bunch of these CFLs. I bought four GE 42watters and six GE 26watters but I can't find anywhere on the bulb or the package that tells me if their daylight or softwhite. The only numbers on the package are on the 42w bulbs-2700 lumens and on the 26w bulbs-1750 lumens.

Does anybody know what the hell I got just from this info? I shined them on the wall and they all look yellowish to me. did I buy the wrong ones or what? I planned on two plants with two 42w bulbs on top and a split with two 42w bulbs down the middle and then placing the smaller ones in and around where needed, but I want a full set of the right spectrum for each stage. Any help would be appreciated.

Okay I found the info I was looking for at their website. All of these bulbs are the 2700k spectrum. Well I guess I'm set for flowering but now I'm off to go find some 6500ks.

okay so i have a question.
i dont really have a whole lot of money to get started
actually pretty much no money, but people are willing to loan me money u kno
and the thing is ive got a shit tone of those long Florecent lights cuz ive been messing
with animals my whole life and i was woundering if its prolly just a good idea to get like
idk 10 or 15 of those flouros workin so i can just LST and use a bunch of flouros to get srated, with a few plants make some money off them and then buy a nice HPS light.
cuz i would like to try and get around a half pound atleast for my first time.
im gunna be growing afghani and i wondering if u think if i did everything right id be able to get about a half off 3 plants. cuz im gunna be growing in an attic, im building a 5'-4' growing boxand i could get hella lights going with those flouros, oh and can u use too many of those, and electric bill is no problem, i live in a bug house, and its about to be winter anyways, electrics goin up anywas
