I shouldn't run into any problems I'm not a first time grower =P.
I've got some doe so I'll be able to acquire everything I need in
a short ammount of time. I've got 10 'new purple powers' chillin' on
my grandmother's porch and she would be cool with a couple more plants if
I did run into that problem.

Ok one more question =D.
Well I just got back from lowe's and I plan to skip veg
and start on 12/12, i've got three 40w coolwhite's
w/ 3 clip lamps. I was wondering if 120w would get 2 plants
along for a bit until I have another chance to get a couple
more 40w bulbs w/ clip lamps.

thinking about the same set up but with 1 each.

would it be enough for 4 plants 18 gal rubbermaid DWC in a cabinet 4x2x2? i am sure some of the plants will turn out to be male so i might up up with fewer plants.
trying to weigh my options on prices CFL vs t5.

Hey man. With the right light you could probably pull 5 ounces per plant easy in a 18 gal DWC. You won't be doing that with 340 watts of CFL however. You can grow 3-4 plants however with the T-5 or some CFL's, just don't expect major yields.

Hey, sorry if this question has come up in the thread and I've missed it, but does anyone have any input on supplimenting an HID with a couple of CFLs? I'm going to do my first indoor grow in a 3x3 Hydrohut with a 400w HID set up. I was thinking of supplimenting it all the way through veg. and flowering with a couple of 42~65w CFLs turned sideways near the plants. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks!

Yes you can, I do this as well to supplement lower growth. As long as temps in that space are controlled it is a good idea that certainly can't hurt.

how many lights should i have on one plant? do you think 2 would work? having one on each side above the plant?

also, how much should i be looking to spend on the bulbs, light fixtures, and electricity each month?

what major stores can i walk into and buy CFLs and all the fixins?

alright i planted my seeds about 12 days ago and they are lookin pretty good so far. To start I had each of them under 2x26w red spectrum. Today I went out and bought 2x26w blue spectrum cuz i learned that they are better for the veg stage and i also bought a cople y socket adapters.

So right now my 12 day old seedlings are under 1x26w red 1x26w blue and 1x42w red each. The lights are about 3 inches from the plants. Should this be enough light to get me thru all the stages? Should i replace some red spectrum lights with more blues? Please leave some input!! thanks

Sounds good burninheavy420. Reds are more for flowering though and the blues are better for vegg.

GhengisChron, get the lights like burninheavy420 has. They are probably between $5.00-$9.00 each. Electricitry cost on all those is probably only a few bucks per month.

CFL's can be found in Lowes, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Ace, etc.
