Hey man. With the right light you could probably pull 5 ounces per plant easy in a 18 gal DWC. You won't be doing that with 340 watts of CFL however. You can grow 3-4 plants however with the T-5 or some CFL's, just don't expect major yields.

Yes you can, I do this as well to supplement lower growth. As long as temps in that space are controlled it is a good idea that certainly can't hurt.

Sounds good burninheavy420. Reds are more for flowering though and the blues are better for vegg. GhengisChron, get the lights like burninheavy420 has. They are probably between $5.00-$9.00 each. Electricitry cost on all those is probably only a few bucks per month. CFL's can be found in Lowes, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Ace, etc.
