I reread the posts and realized the GE were the right ones. Could not find them in Ace Hardware or KMart, but found them in Target. 6500k cfls. I bought 4 at 15 whats each. Cost about $22.00

So, I made a setup similar to this, that will grow about six plants. I plan on getting a 600 watt HPS for when I flower, but I'm going to veg with CFL in the mean time. I plan on getting these bulbs; they're 105 watts (500 watt incandescent equivalent). Would it be smart to have one bulb for each plant, or could I get away with three down the middle? If I get six bulbs, that comes to $137 not including shipping. I might as well be getting a 600 watt HPS already for that much!

EDIT: I just realized they're over 11 inches long! I intended to have them hanging vertically, but now maybe I'll have to make a hood and hang them horizontally...

GreenDazed42 Your setup sounds fine. 315 Watts for, what 6 seedlings you said, should be fine. You could hang one horizontally and the other two vertically if you like.

InRaged, your setup sounds good too. For two rooms, the vegging/clone room, with 6500k CFL's is great and the flowering room with a 600 watt HPS is very great. Spend the extra cash for a Hortilux bulb. IMHO they are worth the money.

Best wishes. Send me a link if you can. That goes for everybody. I have not been browsing the rooms lately so I don't know of the new journals out there.

Just have a quick question. I'm growing in a suite that I lease with roomates. In all I'd say theres 50 seperate suites just in my building alone. Is 400 watts of CFL's too much to use in my room i.e will it send up red flags? I'm not worried about my roomamtes finding out because I'm growing in a cab inside my closet inside my room but I just want to know if 400 is too much wattage? Thanks alot in advance fellas

Naw don't think 400 watts would tip them off. Plus if you do things like change all household lighting to CFL's, that will save on energy even more.

google "Multi-Cluster 341-D4U" and you will find the 3 light cluster. then go to homedepot or lowes and get the 2 light cluster and screw it in.

How's these?
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=5984213

A 6 pack of 26 Watt Daylight CFLs for $19.32

Doesn't seem bad to me... Anyone know of a better deal?

Seems about right, considering money restrictions... For growing about 2 plants... Right? lol

Your average computer nowadays uses 400W. It ain't shit. An aquarium or treadmill or anything like that will probably chew that up and then some. My HDTV LCD uses 250W on its own. If three roommates each had one, that alone would be 750W

Just a note to all that keep PMing: I'm just a customer of that place. I know the owner ‘cuz he lives by me; but, I can't answer questions about shipping or stuff the dude can get – you have to ask him. I invited him here but he doesn't want the risk.
