Well, im designing a stealth growbox that will be in a speaker box. Originally i wanted to use 3 cfl's but now im leaning toward the hps. From what i've been looking at, i havent been able to find a ballast for a 100 watt hps, so i was wondering if i even needed one for such low wattage? any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Oh, also if i find the 100 watter isnt putting out as much as id like it to, i may ad a 39 w cfl.

What are the dimensions of the speaker box? A hps is going to cause a lot more heat and isn't good for very small spaces.

for a ballast that small you have two options. #1 is go to home depot or lowes and get a 150w hps security light. or check ebay for a 150w ballast "kit" that has all the internals of a pre-assembled ballast but you'll need to buy a bulb and socket ect. i don't know that a 100w is even made by anyone. the cheapest way to go is to get the security light. should be less than $80 and will have everything you need incl bulb.
