Re: Lets Build a Bubble Bucket *Step by Step*

Very nice work. Make sure to fill it with water and leave it over night to test for leaks. Leaks are no problem if you don't have plants in the buckets.

Rockwool is like a sponge or cotton ball. Soak a cube of it in water, place a seed in it and keep moist and dark for a few days. Or Germinate a seed then place the sprout in the cube. Plop it down in a pie pan under some CFLs, water and wait for roots.

Thank you. It came out quite nice.

The leaks are not a problem. I sealed the fill, drain and level indicator holes with marine purpose silicone which works great.

I put a few seeds straight into moist pebbles. Waiting to see if they will start growing. Hold your thumbs!

Re: Lets Build a Bubble Bucket *Step by Step*

I'm building a 2 plant system like this right now. but putting it infront and at the base of a vertical pvc drip. unfortunately this all works because only vegetables will be grown in there, but its going to be pretty sick. i'll post pics soon, its almost done

im moving in a few months and people are always coming to look at the house so i cant put any special herbs in there. but i also couldnt stop itching to grow something after i cut my plants down so this is whats gotta happen.

as a side note: lowes has better pvc male adapters cuz the threads hit a flat wall, and home depot's curve which i think might create leaking problems. (did i explain that horribly?)

Yeah, that is kinda true. I bought all my stuff at Lowes as well. A member bought all his stuff at Homedepot and had issues getting them tight enough. Not sure how true this is, but makes you go "hhhmmmm".

Re: Lets Build a Bubble Bucket *Step by Step*

this is a funny side track The nearest home depot is 37 miles away the nearest lowes is 78 and th nearest ace is only 8 so I BOUGHT ALL MY STUFF @ ace hardware and had to be careful cause they sell both types but with larger o rings i made the roundish connectors work but I hate aces prices.

Very clean. I like the lids they make is look slick. They look retail (you could make a million on Ebay)

Re: Lets Build a Bubble Bucket *Step by Step*

they are retail, they sell them at my local hydro shop, they make them with different net sizes, very convenient, one less step in the build process, work smarter, not harder!

i was just looking for some net pots to put into the lids i bought, then i saw that they make pots with bigger edges that snap onto 5gallon buckets.

here is the link!

Re: Lets Build a Bubble Bucket *Step by Step*

Rumple, you once did some Co2 tests at "normal" levels and other tests,IIRC you were saying that most of the Co2 boosters only added 2-300ppm over the norm #s.

What is that "normal"range i should see w/o added Co2?

Im using my CAP PPM3 ATM w/o the burner hooker up so i can see what Co2 is in the room as i use dif. venting volumes but im not sure its working because it shows its at ~900ppm.

Is this even possible,i always thought "normal" Co2 ppm was only 200-400 max. but i could have been mistakin.

Re: Lets Build a Bubble Bucket *Step by Step*

Anytime I am working in my grow room, the level goes up to 800- to 900 PPM. Here in the city, the levels are around 450ppm. I am told that most places are 300 to 400 PPM. I have two meters so I can check if one is acting weird. The new one I bought came with a calibration setting that adjust to your normal levels of CO2. I had to use it the other day when it went all wack on me. I had to set it outside for an hour and not go near it. Worked great. My two meters are within 50ppm of each other. Check your manual for calibration.

Peace, R.

Great guide. You may have turned this jedi to the hydro side. This should be stickied or kudo'd or something. Thanx Rumpleforeskin, or is it McGuyverskin?? LOL.
