would that actually do it? ive got a ballast that wouldnt start my mh up anymore, it says specifically not to use anything besides a 1000w mh.

All i am saying is a dual ballast will work for both and an old single MH ballast will only power that type of HID. Some have converted their MH ballast to start a HPS bulb at the same watt.
I use an "E" ballast which can power both,is silent, runs cool, puts out more lumens, are smaller, have no switches and don't degrade in out put like conventional ballast do,their not cheap but IMO are well worth it if you plan to grow long term.

alright, i got a couple more issues i have to deal with here.
A: Someone told me this yellowing could be due to underfeeding. i can clearly see yellowing tips, little brown burns by each leaf fringe on 4-5 bottom fan leaves, cupping leaves.. i was sure it was because the ec was rising from 1 to 1.1 1.2 from my plant drinking a quart of water a day and not having my ro set up to give it more water. i was told to revise my 0-5-10 to a 0-8-16 because im running a 1000w mh and was told that this would solve my problem. me and the mrs wanted to ask your opinion on the matter.
B: unless suggested otherwise, im going to spend 20 bucks on 15'x20' of 2"x2" nylon netting. i cant find a smaller size. i would rather not have that much netting, or spend 20 bucks that could go towards a sulfur burner.
C: unless suggested otherwise, im going to buy these http://cgi.ebay.com/3-75-inch-neopre...742.m153.l1262 even tho im a complete newb and have no idea what to do with them. i also dont know what else i should buy as far as cloning goes.
D: im kind of clueless about how i should set 5 buckets up to a res being pressed for space. i plan on putting 5 clones in 5 bubble buckets underneath a 3.5'x3.5' screen, maybe 4'x4', inside a 5.5'x6' walk in closet. leaving a foot or two of workspace to train the plants. i am a skinnier dude.
i need to regroup im kind of underslept, and i dont wanna ramble on and not realize it.

i thought id humor you guys with the doodle i just made, to elaborate a little bit on my res question. dont laugh too hard. maybe if i dedicated a sober hour of thought, i could think of a better way to split 5 buckets, and i wouldnt be asking a question i could answer myself. i know i could use a small mess of pvc, to make a 5 way splitter. ive seen the exact design constructed somewhere on one of these sights. but i thought id run this idea by. i dont know how people use these doodle apps so proficiently. i had to download a doodle app because mac hasnt seen the point in including one since os 9.

Pond pump, diaphram pump either will work fine. I have a diaphram pump installed now. Diaphram pumps don't need a prime to work, they will pump air without a proplem. Diaphram pumps are very costly.

I see no reason why that diagram would not work fine. Looks good to me. I wish I had that kinda space.

hey your post is awsome one again but i decided to build somthing off the ideas of your grow setup 1 reason is i couldnt find a black bucket the second is because pumps are expensive and i wanted more than 1 plant

would this make the plants to close because if it will i can cut it down to 4?

also will 1 pump be enought for thi kinda setup?

also i was thinking of adding a foger to this setup i would drop the fogger in the reservoir and it would mist the solution to the roots also while the airstone is creating bubbles is this a good idea??

I am not sure about foggers at this time. A few guys here have tried to find use for them but they tend to make lots of humidity. Not to say people cant do cool things with them, it's just I have no use for them in my buckets. Remember if that fog gets loose, you will have issues with slightly acidic mousture all over your grow.

I am also not a big fan of multiple plants in a singe bucket. I would rather have multiple single units.
Best of luck. R.

Rump I am thinking about using a bigger reservoir, possibly a 20 gallon reservoir with 3 plants. Would the same method your talk about work. Just add RO water to the reservoir and then whenever I replace the 32 gallons (20 res + 4 gal for each bucket) remix nutrients.

I plan on using a recirculating system so using the same method would it work or would it be affected because more nutrients over a larger volume of water?
