Hi! I have some questions, I'm new at this actually it is the first time that I'm going to use this system, I need to know how does all the nutrients work, things as quantity, I have read all the questions and answers and i don't see anything about that, I'm in Costa Rica so I don't know if I can find everything as easy as you do in the USA, Also I would like to know what kind of nutrients to use and all info you can give me to start with the right foot.
Also what about lightning and how much does it need daily and all that.
Sorry to bother soo much!
Thanks!!!!!

renrobles, I use General Hydroponics brand nutrients. The feeding formula or system I use is called "The Lucas Formula".

Although I am relatively successful growing two plants in a closet, I don't like to give advice on feeding or nutrients. I feel Grasscity has people who know more about this then I. I know very little when it comes to this part of growing weed. I follow the instructions blindly.

If you have any questions about building a bubble-bucket, I can answer it with some confidence.

4:21oops, I would love to see your version of bubble buckets and the plants in them. I dig seeing how people take my simple idea and improve on it. You are more then welcome to post pictures here in this thread or start a new one and send me and the floks in here an invite.

Right now I'm testing a new circulation/utility pump while incorporating a water filter. It seems to work well. I have much cleaner nutrients and no build-up to clean between grows. I will post pictures when I get a chance.
Peace, R.

Bare bones set-up, mylar panel on top to keep light from getting through the rocks and it keeps my water temperature cooler. I run my air hoses through the air ducting to further cool the water down.

No leaks, everything works great. I never strayed from your original plans. Of course I could always use more air. I am always upgrading on my air delivery. I'm running the large round stones right now but I know they'll only last one rotation. Thinking about the air diffuser hose for next go round. Trying to find good way to secure to bottom. But thanks again and ttyl8r

That mylar panel is a great idea. How did you install it?

I cut 2- 2" slits in the card board to accomadate the stalks and to give a little wiggle room. Then I glued the mylar to it and cut 1 slit right up the middle of each opening. This allows for a tight fit. I went around the edges with our favorite tape and it works like a charm. Of course I took all the measurement s so that when installed the board would go all the way accross my width. There were a few folks that said I might burn my plants but after they fill out theres little chance of that. Ecspecially with as much air movement as I have in there. Everything is moving...gently.
When in place it holds itself there nicely.

1 plant perbucket is the normal route, but you "could" grow as many plants as you can fit in there! (ive got 2 in 1 bucket right now.. )

these parts are VERY easy to find and half the fun is building it your self

I have been trying all kinds of bulkhead fittings. I have problems finding thick gaskets to fit 1/2" PVC. The O-rings in my build work, but they are not a strong point in my design. I'm sure it can be improved. I like some of the info I got from that link Mordgrow. Example: Putting the gasket on the outside only.
I have not tried that. If I could find a gasket thick enough I will.

reading further in his thread he "had no leaks" but other people had issues with the way he connected his feed lines (stabbing barbed stuff into the soft vynl) I'm trying to think of a way to change that right now. and why not allow the nutes to hit the clay pots? i could see for young plants, but older plants would be fine with water running down their roots from up top.

now i just need my float valve to come in the mail and a few spare hours.. im excited !

you could totaly set something like this up in your room, you just gotta get creative with the rezivore shape/container.. i've got a float valve that would work in a 3gal bucket, and a small pump would fit in there too, but you already ahve a 5 gal bucket thats set up perfect for a controller..
