I dont know the answer to this one. I have limited knowledge of rockwool.

I'm using rockwool now. I soaked them to get to proper ph, put away in nice dark, warm area and to tell you the truth I do better with germinating in paper towels. Its faster. I think rockwool is great because you don't disturb the crown of the plant at all and it holds water really good. Ideally I think its best to sprout in paper towels and when you get them fairly long, transfer to rockwool. That way the sprout is not struggling to find the way up. Have a great weekend. ![]() |

I use the Lucas formula for feeding and add nothing more. Not to say it wont help, I just dont find the need with the plants I am growing.

I'm down to one right now(marilyn)but this has been one big learning process. You and I basically have the same amount of area to grow in. I have applied a fan directly to the base of the plant in order to push a little air through the rock. I am hoping this helps. Last edited by 4:21oops : 04-11-2007 at 04:33 PM. |

Mold sucks. I tell folks not to mist their plants or add humidity in any way.

that's odd rumple4! w/o correct r/h your yield will suffer greatly. i "have to" use a humidifier or else. my r/h is in the low teens w/o a humidifier.... not to mention the bennies of foliar spraying...(but not too far into flower...)

Wow growbot thats low! Mine stays at 50 - 55 normally. I can get it up to 70 % with a portable unit but Rumples hit it on the head. I started foliar feeding because of some leaf curl and general unhealthy conditions. And I sprayed with lights off and usually I turned off fans so that the stomas would suck up the water. Big mistake! Thanks Rumples, I won't be doing that again.
PS I looked it up and the mold was consistent with phythium mold ![]() |

Oh I definately have seen the positive results of foliar feeding. Marilyn is kickin as far as bud sites. So ya if I had been feeding before light cycle instead of after that would probably resolved my problem. Today there is no sign of mold, no sign of distress other than a little leaf curl of new growth at bud site toward the middle. But I'm just talkin about a couple of leaves.

No most folks don't foliar feed. A few do but they learn.
