OK, I re-read your last post. The question is: Will it matter if my reservoir is not in the center of my other buckets? Won't the closest bucket to the reservoir be getting all the strong nutrients?

You have to check and adjust your nutrients daily. The best way to do this is to circulate the nutrients in your whole series of buckets (you have to stir it all up). Now if you have to stir your nutrients and get all the buckets with the same strength and PH, it wont matter if the reservoir is on the end or the center.

I use a pond pump hooked to the 2nd drain on the reservoir. I turn on the pond pump and it starts draining the resevoir to the last bucket in the series. Then I shut off the pump and let it equal out until the resevoir becomes level with the other buckets again. See the pond pump can drain the reservoir faster then the other buckets can fill it back up. I turn on the pump again and drain the reservoir into the center bucket. I keep doing this while alternating buckets that I fill. Soon they are all mixed to the same strength and PH. I adjust PH in the reservoir and mix again. Then re-check PH. Not as hard as it sounds. Do the daily and it won't matter if the reservoir is on the end.

Note two trains on reservoir. Also you only need one sight indicator. Less holes to drill.

that makes perfect sense, rumple. thanks a lot for spelling it all out. does it take long for the buckets to equalize in your setup? its been about 20 minutes, and im still waiting for the res to equalize...

all the valves are open, im thinking its just moving at a snails pace because of the limited water flow (traveling through elbows and tubing). thanks again!

20 minutes? I hook mine up with 1/2" PVC and it takes about 90 secounds. You may need to fit it with bigger tubing or pipe.

Hey Rumple, amazing thread as i know uv heard many times.
I have grown outdoors many times and indoor once or twice but in soil. i wanted to do a hydro grow and i am am defenitly going to use you bubble bucket technique. im 99% sure i understand everything perfectly, but there is just 1 single problem i have. i want to use the lucas formula but unfortunately i cant find the GH floragrow, micro, or bloom at any stores i know of. do you buy them from a store or order them online? if so could you give me a link of the website you use. thanks! i hope to even come clsoe to what u harvest

Don't buy the Floragro (you dont need it with Lucas).

Here read it through. Note: This is how I use his formula, he has made changes and does it a number of ways.

General Hydroponics Flora Series Feeding Strategy - Lucas Formula

G-M-B (Grow-Micro-Bloom)
0-5-10 - For Vegetative cycle (24/0)
0-8-16 - For Flowering cycle (12/12)

The numbers above indicate the number of milliliters (ml/cc) of Flora Grow, Flora Micro or Flora Bloom formulas that I use in one gallon (US Liquid) of nutrients.

You will notice I dont use any of the "Flora Grow” formula, do not need to, the "Flora Micro" provides plenty of Nitrogen.

1. Top off the reservoir daily using a pH corrected water solution as required to maintain full reservoir level. After adding back an amount of water equal to the amount of your reservoir capacity you should change the reservoir and put in fresh solution.

lol brain fart...i knew i didnt need any of the floragrow, the thing is i just dont know where to puchase the micro or bloom like i said no stores around seem to have it. any site suggestions that i should order it from?

Hey again sorry about that, i guess i didnt look verry hard i searched the web instead of store hunting..dumb idea lol. i found a store iv ben to years ago that i can get to that has it. im proud to say i will be gathering everything to make my own BB and putting it to good use. il keep you posted on my progress

Hey R,

I cut a couple stems for clones, put rooting gel and put them in a small mini bubbler system but 2 weeks later no roots. Can you give me a quick step-by-step for cloning when you have a chance?

I like the mister more then the bubblers. switch the air pump for a pond pump and a few misting heads. I use nothing but pure water. No gel or other stuff. Some times it takes more then two weeks. My WW takes about 7 days but I had some Master Kush that took three f'n weeks to root.
